It’s Been a Long Time Comin’

The St. Stephens Indians have overcome a colossal mountain and defeated the Hickory Red Tornadoes for the first time since 1993. The Indians won the game with a final score of 28-21. St. Stephens scored the first touchdown on a Caleb Peterson twenty-two yard interception return for a touchdown, but the extra point was no good, and St. Stephens led the game 6-0. Peterson scored again for the Indians on a four yard run, and with a two point conversion by Peterson, the score was 14-0. Hickory stormed back with a touchdown on a one yard run Rakim Barrett and with the extra point, the score was 14-7. St. Stephens scored before the half on an Antonio Sherrill thirteen yard touchdown run, and the extra point was good, and the score at the half was 21-7. Hickory then came back in the third quarter and tied the game on a Kyshell Geter one yard touchdown run and a 36 yard touchdown pass from Kevin Shelton to Trevin Parks, and the score was 21-21. St. Stephens scored in the winning touchdown on a two yard run by Peterson. St. Stephens pulled off the win over the Hickory Red Tornadoes 28-21.
