Cavaliers Top Spartans

The East Burke High School Cavaliers are now .500 again with a win over the South Caldwell Spartans. East Burke scored the first touchdown of the game on a Cranford touchdown run. After another Cavalier touchdown, the Spartans attempted to pitch the ball to another wide receiver after a completion, however, the pitch was dropped and Billy Abee ran the ball to the 11 yard line. The Cavalier offense put the ball into the inzone, and the score was 20 to 0 at the half. The Cavaliers continued to dominate in the second half and beat the Spartans 30 to 8.

Newton-Conover Remains Undefeated

The Newton-Conover Red Devils are still undefeated as they beat the Patton Panthers Friday Night. Newton-Conover led the game 14 to 0 at the half, but Patton fought back, and had the game 14 to 13 in the third quarter. Then, the Red Devils turned on the heat and scored 28 points. The Red Devils was led by Tevin Jones, who had 225 yards rushing on 12 carries. The Red Devils continue their winning ways with the final score of 42 to 19.

Titans Top Patriots

The McDowell Titans scored only two touchdowns, which was enought o beat the Freedom Patriots Friday Night. McDowell Quarterback Dakota Arrowood threw a touchdown pass and also rushed for the winning touchdown. The Patriots tied the game at 7 in the third quarter, but the Titans went ahead in the third quarter 14 to 7, which was enough to win the game.

Reynolds Dominates Cougars

The A.C. Reynolds Rockets traveled to an entusiastic Alexander Central Cougars Friday Night and left with a big win. Reynolds gained 361 total yards, with 225 yards through the air. The Rocket defense held the Cougars to 164 yards total offesne. The Rockets scored 31 straight points and won the game big over the Cougars 31 to 7.

Panthers Hold Off Blue Devils

The Hibriten Panthers jumped out to a quick lead and was able to hold off the Maiden Blue Devils as they attempted to come back to beat the Panthers. Hibriten had 443 yards offense in the game, led by Quin Smith, who had 162 yards rushing. The Panthers won this game 38 to 27.

Foard Finishes Against Hickory

Fred T. Foard scored the last twenty-six points against the Hickory Red Tornadoes to get the big win 47 to 28. The Red Tornadoes had a 21 to 7 point lead in the second quarter, but Foard batteled back and scored 40 of the last 47 points. The Tigers were led by Quintin Owens, who had 220 yards on 20 carries. Hickory was led by Quarterback Kevin Shleton, who had 117 yards and was 9 for 18 passing. Foard wins this game 47 to 28.

Cavaliers return to .500 with a win

The East Burke Cavaliers are again .500 with a win over the Starmount Rams. The Cavaliers scored four touchdowns in the first half and a safety gave the Cavaliers a 30 to 0 lead entering halftime. Starmount came alive to late to make a major difference, but did but up 21 points on the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers win this game 43 to 21.

Bears Win in Overtime

The Bunker Hill Bears pulled off the win in overtime against the West Caldwell Warriors. West Caldwell scored on Jay Logan one yard touchdown run and converted a two point conversion with fifty six seconds left in the game to tie the game a 22-22. In overtime, the Bears scored on a 10 yard run by John Seagle. The Bears defense then held the Warriors, and the Bears won this game 29-22 in overtime.

Foard Dominates Patton

The Fred T. Foard Tigers dominated the Patton Panthers 48 to 7. Fred T. Foard scored 48 straight points against the Panthers, which included a 67 yard touchdown run by Quitin Owens, Landon Isenhour found Tyler Ruth for a 70 yard touchdown pass, and Taylor Lassiter returned a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown. Fred T. Foard wins this game 48 to 7.

It’s Been a Long Time Comin’

The St. Stephens Indians have overcome a colossal mountain and defeated the Hickory Red Tornadoes for the first time since 1993. The Indians won the game with a final score of 28-21. St. Stephens scored the first touchdown on a Caleb Peterson twenty-two yard interception return for a touchdown, but the extra point was no good, and St. Stephens led the game 6-0. Peterson scored again for the Indians on a four yard run, and with a two point conversion by Peterson, the score was 14-0. Hickory stormed back with a touchdown on a one yard run Rakim Barrett and with the extra point, the score was 14-7. St. Stephens scored before the half on an Antonio Sherrill thirteen yard touchdown run, and the extra point was good, and the score at the half was 21-7. Hickory then came back in the third quarter and tied the game on a Kyshell Geter one yard touchdown run and a 36 yard touchdown pass from Kevin Shelton to Trevin Parks, and the score was 21-21. St. Stephens scored in the winning touchdown on a two yard run by Peterson. St. Stephens pulled off the win over the Hickory Red Tornadoes 28-21.
